Guided tour to Falketind

Falketind rises 2067 meters above Jotunheimen and is the most prominent peak in this part of the mountain range. Via the classic Pioneer Route you make your way up through a couple of hundred meters of easy climbing and scrambling, and over a beautiful glacier – a true alpine hike for those who want to go a little higher.

The hike starts at the barrier at the end of Koldedalsvegen. Together with your guide, you follow the gravel road on foot before the trail turns uphill towards Falkbreen, and here you will experience some steep, effective elevation gains. You cross the river on the rocks and continue into calmer terrain to the glacier. There you will put on crampons and walk in a rope formation over the ice. On the other side, it leads straight up in a cleft and easy climb to the iconic ridge of Falketind, and further on a steep path all the way to the top. You follow the same path down.
