Avalanche Course
Learn about safe travel in the winter mountains with experienced instructors from Rope and Tin.
Learn about safe route choices, snow, and safety on tours. Suitable for those who can ski, but want to learn more about safe independent travel on snow.
This 2-day course is suitable for those who have no prior avalanche knowledge, have taken a shorter introductory course previously, or wish to learn more about safer ski touring.
The tours will mainly take place in the Tyin Filefjell area, where the terrain offers great opportunities for enjoyable skiing and varied landscapes with excellent learning possibilities.
Learning objectives:
- Recognize avalanche terrain
- Use of rule-based methods for planning and decision-making on tours
- Understand how human factors influence group dynamics
- Be able to perform effective companion rescue
- Knowledge of different snow types

- Snow knowledge and avalanche theory
