Trail network and hiking options

Tyin-Filefjell offers an extensive network of cross-country skiing trails. Around 140 kilometres of groomed trails wind through the landscape, both up on the rugged mountains and down in the sheltered forest areas at the Tyinkrysset junction. From Filefjellstuene you can strap on your skis and choose routes according to weather and skill level. On clear days, the high mountain trails offer magnificent views of Jotunheimen, while the hike in the forest belt offers warmer conditions when the weather is nice.

For all levels

From quiet circular trails for beginners to extensive mountain trails - skiing fun awaits here for all levels.

For beginners and families with children, there are several short and easy trails. The illuminated trail from Filefjellstuene is perfect for a leisurely walk – it winds past Tyinkrysset and ends down at Flogstrondfjorden. A great option for both day and evening hikes, with a headlamp and cocoa in a thermos.

For the more experienced, Tyin-Filefjell opens up for longer ski tours in the high mountain terrain. You can set off on a day trip to the self-service DNT hut Sulebu, a classic trip of around 20 km/h on a groomed trail. Along the way, you really get to experience the wilderness feeling – often you hardly see other people, just white plains and mountain peaks on the horizon. The area's open terrain gives a real alpine feel and sweeping views of Jotunheimen.
