The starting point is at Fløkstrønde along E16, south of Tyinkrysset. There is designated parking at the chain-up area along E16, by Fløgstrøndfjorden. The tour starts on gentle terrain along a forest road through birch forest, where it is easy to find good lines upwards. The terrain is clear, providing a calm start to the trip.

As you ascend, the forest becomes sparser – and the terrain more open. Further on, you follow natural ridges and gentle flanks towards the summit. The ascent is steady, without long steep sections.

The final section is in open high mountain terrain. The summit at 1256 meters above sea level offers excellent views over Tyin and the surrounding mountain areas.

The descent normally follows the same route as the ascent. Be aware of the upper slopes, as well as the gully below, where in several places it is steep enough for avalanches to release. In the lower section, the tour goes through forest, where trees can be dense, requiring good control on skis.

The round trip is about 6 km and normally takes approximately 1.5-2 hours at a leisurely pace. It is also well-suited as an evening hike, or when you want an efficient session in the mountains.

As always in the winter mountains, conditions should be assessed carefully. Check the avalanche forecast in advance, and choose your route according to the conditions.
