Hike to Børrenøse from Filefjellstuene

The path up to Børrenøse is 3.2 km long with around 378 meters of elevation gain, and rises steadily enough that it is also suitable for children – take it at your own pace, with plenty of time for breaks along the way.

Allow about an hour and a half to reach the top. At the cairn at Børrenøse you can turn around, or walk the last stretch down to the Vidsyn Eldstogo barbecue hut. The view is the reward for the hike: Otrøvatnet glitters below, Skørsnøse rises in the north, and the mountain landscape unfolds towards Jotunheimen. The return trip takes two to three hours – plan your trip for a clear day when the peaks are at their best.
