Park at a designated, paid parking lot by the bridge between Lower and Upper Smeddalsvatnet, along the E16 - approximately 14 kilometers west of the Tyinkrysset intersection.

From the parking lot, cross the bridge between the lakes, before turning north and aiming for the marked ridge that leads up to the summit. The first few meters of elevation are on gentle terrain, before the slope gradually increases.

The ridge forms a natural and clear route up the mountain. Here the terrain is even, and there are good opportunities to adapt the line to the conditions. At the same time, there are steeper flanks on both sides of the ridge. As you get higher, the landscape opens up, and you get a good overview of the surrounding area. The last meters of altitude towards the top are in steadily rising terrain.

The peak at 1536 meters above sea level offers a wide view of Jotunheimen and the mountain areas around Filefjell. This is one of the higher peaks in the area, and gives a distinct high mountain feeling.

The descent normally follows the same route as the ascent. In good and stable conditions there are also opportunities for more direct lines on the flanks, with steeper skiing. These areas can be avalanche prone, and it is important to make assessments along the way.

Frostdalsnosi is well suited for those who want a slightly longer hike in open terrain, with a clear route choice and several options for adaptation.
