The starting point is at Tyinstølen along Tyinvegen (Fv. 53). At Tyinstølen you can pay for parking with Vipps.

The route is on the opposite side of the road from the parking lot. It is recommended to follow the summer route southwest at the start to avoid the steepest part. Then turn north towards the ridge, and follow this in gentle and clear terrain towards the summit.

The ascent is in open terrain the entire way, with good visibility. This provides a safe route, but it is also important to be aware that the sides of the ridge are steeper and more prone to landslides in unstable conditions.

The peak at 1386 m above sea level offers a wide view of the area. From here you can see, among other things, towards Hurrungane and Jotunheimen, with Store Austabottentinden rising closest. An orientation board has been set up showing the names and heights of a number of peaks visible from here.

The descent normally follows the same route as the ascent. The upper part provides open surfaces, while the lower part can be experienced as somewhat steeper back towards the road. There are also alternative, steeper lines if you can make your own avalanche assessments.

Tyinstølsnøse is a short trip that provides good riding for the effort, or as an introduction to a summit trip. At the same time, it is important to make your own assessments of snow and avalanche conditions before the trip, as always for all travel in the winter mountains.
