Explore the King's Road over Filefjell in winter gear

The historic road connected East and West for the first time, and in 2017 was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize for Cultural Heritage.

On snowshoes, you can follow the same route that Norway's travelers have used for centuries – between historic marketplaces, fjords and valley passes. With snow-covered plains and frosty old stone walls along the path, you get the feeling of walking in the footsteps of mountaineers from a bygone era. Several of the stages on Kongevegen can be done as day trips or round trips, and winter gives them their own, quiet magic.
