There's nothing quite like celebrating Christmas in the mountains. Snow-covered landscapes, great cross-country skiing conditions, snowshoeing, snow play – and full speed on the alpine slopes. Welcome to a wonderful Christmas holiday with us!
Santa Claus is coming to the ground – December 26th
On December 26th, Santa Claus will appear on the hill around 11:00 AM and invite you to ride the children's area. Best suited for children aged 5–12, and assumes they can ride the Children's Elevator on their own.
The activity lasts just under an hour – and it is rumored that Santa Claus may have something in his bag…
Welcome to a fun Christmas activity for the little ones!
Join the torchlight procession on the alpine slope – December 27th
Join us for an atmospheric torchlight procession after closing time on December 27. Meet at the card reader at Børrenøseheisen between 3:30 and 3:45 PM, before we drive straight up and start the train. The torches are free and are handed out at the top. From there, we drive down together in the darkness – and finish with hot juice on the terrace at the Skikaféen.
The event is open to everyone. Younger or less experienced people can participate, as long as they have an adult with them who can help along the way.

Christmas Quiz in Skikaféen – December 29th
Join the Christmas quiz at 6:30 p.m., led by the mountain's (and the ski shop's) own Øyvind Stende. There will be a great atmosphere, and Julie's Christmas mulled wine will be served throughout the evening.
Practical information:
- Advance registration is required.
- Max. 4 per team, and registration NOK 100,- per person.
- Prizes for the top three teams.
- 18 years of age limit.
Tyin Filefjell Ski Center
Ski fun for the whole family! The ski center is open every day during the Christmas holidays from 10:00 to 15:30.
The Ski Café
Lunch, fresh pastries, snacks and something good in a cup – right at the foot of the Børrenøse lift. Open during the lift's opening hours.
Ski school
Private lessons and skiing fun for all levels – from the youngest to experienced skiers. Book in advance and follow the ski center's opening hours.
Find Christmas peace in our new sauna
Right next to Filefjellstuene you will find our brand new sauna – beautifully situated above the river Begna, with a view of Skørsnøse . A perfect place to warm up after a day out in the snow, whether you're coming from cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or a long day on the alpine slopes.
Here you can sit back and find Christmas peace alone, or bring friends and enjoy a nice and social break. The sauna can be booked by anyone who wants a little extra well-being during the holiday season.
Cross-country skiing – tranquility, views and winter fun
With us, cross-country skiing experiences are ready as soon as you strap on your skis. The trails wind through quiet mountain terrain, with views of Jotunheimen's peaks in winter - a perfect break during the Christmas season.
Here, both young and old can enjoy skiing at their own pace, whether you are experienced or new to the slopes.
Snowshoeing on the King's Road
The King's Road offers several beautiful winter stages that can be walked with snowshoes. Choose a short loop or a longer day trip – all of them provide a glimpse into the old road with stone walls, cultural monuments and a true high mountain atmosphere.
