Big investment going forward

A mountain area with clear ambitions

Tyin Filefjell is in a long-term development, with a clear ambition to further develop the area as a holistic and attractive mountain destination. In recent years, investments have been made in new Filefjellstuene, quality improvements have been made to the alpine facility, and a solid foundation has been laid for the way forward.

At the same time, work is underway on regulation, infrastructure and upcoming construction phases that will contribute to year-round experiences and a vibrant mountain area - to the delight of both cabin owners and visitors.

The development is taking place step by step, with respect for nature and the unique character that makes Tyin Tyin. The goal is to strengthen the area for generations to come.

Frequently asked questions

Are you wondering about your dream cabin at Tyin Filefjell? Here we have collected common questions and answers about buying a cabin, the area and what is happening in the mountains.

We update this page regularly as new topics emerge – and if you don't find what you're looking for, just get in touch.

The plots are sold at fixed prices, so you don't have to go through bidding rounds – if several people are interested in the same plot at the start of the sale, a draw will be held, and then the "first come, first served" principle applies.

Interested buyers contact a broker to arrange a viewing and select a plot. Once you have decided, you sign a purchase contract and pay a deposit. Takeover of the plot is agreed with the seller; the infrastructure must be completed before you can start building on your own plot.

The area is zoned for holiday homes with associated infrastructure, which means that the plots are prepared for construction in line with the plans. You can therefore be assured that the necessary public permits are in place for cabin construction in the field.

... and the infrastructure in the field is scheduled to be completed in 2026. It is estimated that work on roads, water and electricity to the plots will be carried out by the summer of 2026. This means that the plots will be ready for construction around the third quarter of 2026, so that you can start building your cabin in the fall of 2026.

A year-round road will be built to the cabins, as well as connections to electricity, water and sewage for each plot. Electricity up to the plot boundary is included in the plot price, while connection fees for public water and sewage are additional and invoiced by Vang Municipality at current rates. The infrastructure work will be completed before you take over the plot, so that everything is in place when you start building.

The cabin area will have a year-round road that is plowed in the winter, and the water and sewage systems are dimensioned for year-round use (frost protection is taken care of). This means that you can use the cabin just as much in the winter as in the summer. The area and infrastructure are planned precisely so that the cabin owners can enjoy their cabin all year round, whether it is an Easter ski holiday or lazy summer days in the mountains.

In winter, there is a snow-sure ski center with five lifts and 14 slopes, in addition to miles of cross-country trails and great opportunities for summit hikes, snowshoeing and water kiting. In summer, you can go hiking in Jotunheimen and Skarvheimen, fish in mountain lakes, cycle on trails in the terrain, pick berries and much more. The destination also has pleasant eateries (such as Filefjellstuene and Skikaféen) and our partner Tau & Tind arranges activities such as guided tours, kite courses and randonee courses in the high seasons.

... as long as what you build stays within the boundaries of the zoning plan (for example, requirements for ridge height, utilization rate, aesthetics, etc.). There is no construction clause that forces you to use a specific cabin supplier. Illustrations in the prospectus are only examples - the final development may vary in number, type of cabins and location within the field. You can therefore design your cabin dream according to your own wishes (in line with the zoning regulations). Construction on the site can begin as soon as the infrastructure is completed and the site is taken over, estimated from autumn 2026.

... which takes care of the common infrastructure and services in the area. As a buyer, you commit to being a member of the local cabin association, which jointly covers the maintenance of, among other things, roads, snow plowing in the winter, as well as the preparation and maintenance of ski slopes and hiking trails. This involves an annual common cost per cabin. The scheme ensures that the area is kept in good condition at all times and that everyone contributes to the operation of common goods for the enjoyment of the cabin owners.

From Oslo the drive takes approx. 3 hours and 40 minutes, while from Bergen it takes approx. 3 hours and 35 minutes. The distance is also manageable from other regions (for example approx. 2 hours 35 minutes from Gjøvik). The destination is easily accessible by the main road E16, which is open all year round, so access by car is easy regardless of the season.
