We are introducing an exciting new distance at the Mountain Festival: Børrenøse Skyrace – 7 km in spectacular high-mountain scenery.
Børrenøse Skyrace is a trail run for both experienced mountain runners and those who wish to try trail running for the first time. Here you can challenge yourself in spectacular nature without having to tackle the very longest distances.
This 7 km long course with 450 meters of elevation gain offers you a unique running experience, where autumn's changing weather can present everything from wind and snow to clear views of Jotunheimen's majestic peaks. With its highest point at 1297 meters above sea level, this is a true high-mountain challenge – whether you run to win or want to enjoy the trip as a Saturday outing with the family.

This race takes place in the high mountains during autumn, which means varying weather conditions are possible. All participants are responsible for dressing appropriately for the weather. We have, however, created a recommended list of essential items to bring during the race, in addition to what you are wearing.

Registration, bib number collection, and bag check: It will be possible to register on Friday from 17:00 to 21:00 or Saturday from 09:00 to 10:30. Registration takes place at Filefjellstuene. We encourage everyone who can to register on Friday, as a large turnout is expected on Saturday.
Information meeting: Attendance at the information meeting is mandatory. Runners who do not attend will not be permitted to start. Important information regarding the race execution and updated trail conditions will be provided here.
Regulations: By registering, you agree to the race regulations and are obliged to sign a disclaimer when collecting your bib number.
Cancellation: If you are unable to participate in the race, please kindly notify us.
Conditions: Our team continuously assesses the conditions regarding snow/ground, weather, wind, and your safety. If changes occur that require adjustments to the race course, registered participants will be informed.
Showers: Showers will be available after the finish line at Filefjellstuene. Shower use is free, but there are only two showers available, so you should expect some waiting time. Please bring your own towel and soap.
Award Ceremony: All runners will receive a participant medal upon finishing. The award ceremony starts at 5:00 PM. Please note that personal attendance at the award ceremony is necessary to receive any prizes you have won.

There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the information meeting. If you have questions, we kindly ask that you send them to us by email in advance. The Børrenøse Skyrace mountain race is organized as part of the Mountain Festival at Tyin Filefjell. In addition to the races, there will be an exciting program with activities and experiences for both adults and children. The mountains are also at their most beautiful at this time of year!
