Hello!
There are only a few days left until Tyin Filefjell Extreme on Saturday, September 5th, and we are really looking forward to welcoming you to the mountains!
As a result of the national mourning period following the passing of King Harald, we will observe a minute of silence before each start.
Here is some important practical information before the race weekend. Please take a few minutes to read through the entire email – and especially the information regarding the distance you will be participating in.
GPS Tracking – Traccar Client
For safety reasons, Traccar Client must be installed and set up on your mobile phone before the start. The tracking makes it possible for us as the organizer to follow the participants along the way, and also makes it possible to follow the race live in EQ Live.
We recommend that you download and set up the app at home before coming to Tyin Filefjell.
Traccar Client is available for both iPhone and Android:
How to set up tracking
Open the app and enter the following:
-
Your unique ID: #TRACCARID#
-
Address: http://track.eqtiming.com
-
Accuracy: Low
-
Frequency: 30 seconds
-
Distance: 30 meters
Important: Make sure Traccar Client has access to GPS/location on your phone, even when the app is running in the background. Make sure the status in the app is set to on before starting.
You will find a more detailed User guide for setting up Traccar Client here .
Meet at the start with a fully charged phone.
When you are finished with the race, you can turn off Traccar Client to save battery. The tracking is only used in connection with the event.
Before the race
Start numbers must be collected in person at Filefjellstuene (Address: Grøvstølvegen 43, 2985 Tyinkrysset)
All participants must sign a liability waiver upon registration. Participants under the age of 18 must also have a signature from a guardian.
We encourage everyone who has the opportunity to register and pick up their start number as early as Friday, so that we can avoid large crowds on Saturday morning.
Extreme and Ultra have a mandatory equipment list, and the equipment will be checked at registration. If you are missing mandatory equipment, you will not be allowed to start.
We also recommend that all participants familiarize themselves with the course in advance and download the GPX file for their distance. For Ultra, this is mandatory.
Parking
On race day there is parking at Vang & Brød, address: Tyinvegen 7520, 2985 Tyinkrysset.
There is limited capacity at Filefjellstuene, and there will therefore be no opportunity to park at Filefjellstuene on Saturday. Allow some extra time in the morning.

We are closely monitoring the weather, wind and conditions leading up to the race day. If conditions make it necessary, the routes may be adjusted for safety reasons. Therefore, please follow our information all the way up to the start.
Be especially careful at all road crossings. Runners do not have priority over ordinary traffic, and roads should only be crossed when it is safe.
If you have to break the race, you should always notify the nearest official or race management. Do not leave the course without us knowing that you have broken.
Grindaheim Red Cross Relief Corps will assist during the event. In case of acute danger to life and health, call 113.
The race's emergency number is 468 32 519. Please save the number on your mobile phone before the start, so that you have it easily accessible if you need to contact the race management along the way.
Running poles are allowed. We recommend that you do not use headphones so that you can hear announcements from officials, other runners, traffic and the surroundings.
